When the Mach 6 Carbon was launched it was THE BIKE to have. Everyone who bought one loved it. The perfect combination of DW Link pedaling efficiency and aggressive geometry made the Mach 6 the ideal trail machine.
Pivot’s long history of aluminum bikes has all but evaporated. Why? Carbon is a great material offering an amazing strength-to-weight ratio and the ability to produce the complex shapes our beloved mountain bikes require. Properly designed and manufactured carbon is very strong and resilient. In fact Pivot has the best service record of all the brands we carry.
So why go back to aluminum? New hydroforming technologies allowed Pivot to produce all the shapes needed to run a proper DW Link and swingarm without loosing tire clearance or adding substantial weight. Oh, and it’s $1,000 cheaper!
Additionally the new 148mm Boost spaced rear end provided an opportunity to widen the upper linkage of the swingarm and further enhance lateral stiffness. Other improvements include improved cable routing, compatibility with Shimano’s side swing front derailleur, larger pivot bearings for longer life and enhanced stiffness, and revised shock clevis mount providing a better, creak-free connection to the shock.
Come into Cyclepath now to see this new model in person! We have both colors and most sizes in stock, but availability is limited due to it being the new kid on the block.
